Well, as you may have guessed. Something happened. Well, to be honest a lot of different things have happened. Things accumulated and the Side Project Podcast has aired its final episode. We thank all the fans that have interacted and done their best to help spread the word. We also thank all of our incredible guests who have joined us these past few years. Without them, we would have just been "another podcast without anything special."

With the running guest list, we were made credible and incredible because of our guests. Thank you for your loyalty and your support. Please never forget to support your other favorite shows and let them know how you feel.

EP 42 - Music

Nick and Adam were raised on music, but both in completely different forms and took completely different paths.

Somehow they both like the same music, of all the things they disagree on, music is not one of them.

How is this nerdy or geeky? Well, this one time, at band camp?  Just Kidding.  Music and Gaming also go together. We will talk about it. Take a listen and enjoy. Feel free to tell us your music choices!

Half a King

My local library has a very limited selection of fantasy or sci-fi audiobooks, my preferred genres of novels. One gem that I have managed to find is Half a King  by Joe Abercrombie. It is the tale of the youngest son of a king. A son who has no ambition to rule, who has a love for knowledge, and was born with a deformity of his hand. Because of the birth defect, he has lived his life with half a hand, as half a son, and half a person. As that story unfolds, we get to see Yarvi grow as a man and as a king. He faces some difficult situations, but his acceptance and respect for himself are his greatest adversaries.

The story opens with Yarvi preparing for his test for the Ministry, to be a learned advisor to kings. He is happy with his life path and excited for the future. In one fateful night, his life is turned upside down and his future is no longer in his control. He is now heir to the throne. Before he can accept his new fate, more tragedy occurs. As Yarvi travels he meets others with fates as bad, or worse than, his own. He learns the values of true friendship, of perseverance, of honesty and valor, and he learns to view himself as more than his deformity.

Though this story follows a lot of the typical structure of fantasy adventures, it is a fun read. The characters grow as the story unfolds, which is what you want out of a likable and relatable cast. Overall, this is a fun little read that I do recommend.

Intermission Episode 09 - GM Panel

Welcome to another Intermission Episode. We promised we would finally release this recording to you all. This was a public event held at Con of The North in we think 2015, possibly 2016. Where we got a group of GM's together to host a panel to talk about GM'ing and to allow people to ask us our opinions and thoughts on being GM's in order to help them be better GM's or just for new people to get a better feel for what to do as a GM.

Nick's original idea was basically to have a GM seminar. Adam stepped up and made this event, and we recorded it. Hopefully it helps you out and you get some good information.

Enjoy.

EP 39 - Paladins

In this episode Nick and Matt discuss the paladin class and the history as it pertains to real life and as it pertains mostly in gaming, as well as their evolution and changes throughout time, aaaaaaand other classes and themes similar to paladins.

This was where the idea of doing class themed episodes started for us. Finally we decided to do the one that started it. We have many classes left to do and we will slowly cover them.

Episode is here... (Right Click Save As to Download)
EP 39 Paladin Talk
As mentioned in the episode, Nicks Custom Paladin Duty.

"The duty of the paladin is to uphold the truth of the heavens, to bring evil to the side of the righteous or to stop it where it stands. To do less of what one is capable of, is to bring dishonor to himself and to all that they believe. The Paladin shall defend their beliefs til the end, show mercy and forgive where forgiveness is saught. For any wrong may be forgiven. This is the duty of the Paladin, and the duty to any true follower."   -Darius Valnor

As discussed, roughly 17 years ago Nick was forced to write this while the others went on a smoke break. If they voted it wasn't very paladin like, Nick didn't get to play the Paladin. Nick obviously still has it and the character.

Episodes.. Wait... What?

Oh Yeah, dropping soon, An Episode Dedicated to Paladins! Was recorded earlier today! Will be out this weekend! WooWHooo!
